Adult Social Care Showcase and Discovery – Deferred Payment Agreement Eligibility Checker

12 Jun 2015 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Event Navigation

This event will showcase the common Deferred Payment Agreement (DPA) Eligibility Checker that DCLG’s Local Digital Programme has commissioned to support local authorities in offering financial information about adult social care.

The event, run by the Department for Communities and Local Government Local Digital Programme, will:

  • showcase the open API created to calculate eligibility on deferred payment on adult social care
  • highlight the API it has been integrated into the websites of 8 local authorities
  • open discussion about next steps for this API, and next steps for social care information signposting more widely

PLEASE NOTE: This event is primarily for local authority digital services, customer services and adult social care staff. Other public sector and private sector attendance is by invitation only. Please email Henry if you have not received and invitation and would like one.

More about the DPA Eligibility Checker

As a direct outcome of Local Digital Discovery and Co-design events around Adult Social Care we have been working in partnership with tech suppliers iEG4, the Department of Health and a number of Local Authority partners to develop an open API for an online Deferred Payment Agreement (DPA) Eligibility Checker. This tool indicates whether or not a person is likely to be eligible to enter a Deferred Payment Agreement with their Local Authority and also calculates how much it is likely to cost them, enabling them to make more informed decisions about how to pay for their care.
As part of this event we will be showcasing the new beta DPA tool with a demonstration of the calculator in action, information on how to access and use the open API, plus some learning from the partnership project.
